*Friday, May 17th, @ 9:30 - 11:30 am,  IMV Postcard Group, @ The Other Side, 2011 Genesee Street, Utica.  This is the last meeting until July 12th (one month hiatus).  Then the postcard writing to support local candidates in November elections will commence again!

*Saturday, May 18th,
@ 1:00 - 3:00 pm, IMV's Election Reform & Voter Rights Workgroup May Meeting.  Putting the finishing touches on the presentation to IMV's monthly member meeting in June.  Speaker will be Prof. Steve Orvis.  Also will discuss voter registration efforts and effort to create a speaker's bureau to reach out to the community groups.

*Sunday, May 19th, @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm,  Rhythm and Brunch Spring Day Party, fundraiser for Delvin Moody for Utica Common Council, @ Ocean Blue, 118 Columbia Street, Utica.  Buy tickets now to support Delvin's progressive campaign.

*Sunday, May 19th, @3:00 - 6:00 pm,  IMV Canvass for James Paul, candidate for Utica Board of Education.  We will meet at 3 pm to canvass for James in Utica's Ward 6 (North Utica) at the Burger King at 300 Herkimer Road.  All hands on deck for Education and Racial Justice!

*Tuesday, May 21st,  ELECTION DAY.  Vote in your local school district election.  Polls are open noon - 9:00 pm.
*Tuesday, May 21st, @ 5:00 - 6:00 pm,  #StopTheBans Rally!  @ Oneida Square Roundabout, Utica.  Sign Up.  Tell your friends.  Bring everyone you know!  Protect the rights of women to autonomy over our own bodies!

*Tuesday, May 21st, @ 6:00 pm,  Herkimer County Democratic Committee Meeting.  @ Feldeier Law Office, 690 E. Main Street, Little Falls.

*Thursday, May 23rd, @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, What Stands Between Us: What Stands Between Us: Racism Workshops, Open to the public @ Utica Public Library.  This free workshop addresses race in America and in the Mohawk Valley.  The purpose is to raise our awareness about the impact racism has in our lives - even when we may not be aware of it.   Many people have not been offered the opportunity to have an honest dialogue about race relations.  This is that opportunity.  Free lunch included.  RSVP (encouraged, not required): to facilitator Patrick Johnson at 315-601-6002 or by email at [email protected]

*Friday, June 7th, @ 5:00 - 6:00 pm,  Friday Lobby Hour at Rep. Brindisi's Office, 430 Court Street, Suite 102, Utica.  This is our first Friday of the month event to lobby and connect with other progressive activists.  Make your voice heard, and then go out for a drink and talk politics!

*June 9th, @ 3:00 - 5:00 pm,  Where are the Children? Rally  to Reunite Families ,  @ Oneida Square Roundabout, Utica.  Bring children's pajamas to display and then donate.
*Tuesday, June 11th, @ 6:30 - 8:30 pm,  IMV's June Monthly Meeting, @ Cherrywood Clubhouse, 1 Cherrywood Circle on Route 5, Clinton (Town of New Hartford).  We will have a presentation from our Election Reform and Voters Rights Group (speaker will be Steve Orvis of Hamilton College) as well as a talk by Utica College Professor Luke Perry, whose book on the 2018 congressional race in NY 22 has just come out.  He will share his research and also answer questions about the situation in Congress now and looking ahead to elections in 2020.

*Monday, June 17th, @ 6:30 pm,  IMV's Women's Issue Work Group, @ Unitarian Universalist Church, 10 Higby Road, Utica.  First meeting in May was a great success, and there are many ideas for efforts and areas of action--on national and local issues of concern to women, including reproductive rights.  Please join in, and bring your ideas!
